Moving Checklists

We aim to make the move-in & move-out process easy.

We know moving is often stressful. We've built these checklists to help you navigate the process.

No matter whether you're moving into one of our units or you're preparing to move on, the information below should answer the most common questions. If you need additional details, give us a call: (503) 420-8880

Move-in Checklist

We're excited to welcome you to Blue Roof.

Use the checklist details below to get started on the right foot.

First Month's Rent & Deposit

Your first month's rent and your security deposit are both payable at the lease signing.

Keys

We will arrange for your keys to be available at our office or in a secure lock box at the property with a code to access on the day of scheduled occupancy.

Move-in Date & Inspection

Your official move-in date and all inspection information will be provided at the lease signing.

Utilities

You must place all utilities in your name. Do this immediately after the lease signing to avoid losing access.

Move-out Checklist

We're sorry to see you go.

We hope you've enjoyed your stay with us. Use the information below to end your tenancy correctly.

Notice of Intent to Vacate

Please check the terms of your lease to determine your official move-out date. Remember, you are responsible for paying rent through this date. You'll need to provide us with written notice of your intent to vacate, should you be moving out.

Security Deposit

We make every effort to return your security deposit quickly. Remember, unpaid fees, back rent, or necessary repair costs will all be deducted from the deposit.

You cannot use your deposit as your last month's rent; failure to pay will result in a delinquency reported to the credit agencies. Legal action may also be pursued.

Property Condition

You are responsible for returning your property to rent-ready condition. This includes addressing the following elements:

  • Rental Cleaning: Your unit must be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized. Please pay special attention to the kitchens and bathrooms, wiping countertops, cabinets, and appliances. You also need to vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas, wash windows, and remove all refuse from the property. Any garbage left behind may result in an additional fee.
  • Landscaping & Outdoor Areas: You must also return your outdoor living space to its original condition. Please ensure you've addressed all landscaping responsibilities, including mowing the lawn, weeding flowerbeds, and replacing old lightbulbs.
  • Repairs: Please be sure to address any damage that has occurred during your stay. This includes patching holes left from nails and screws, replacing lightbulbs, and painting, where necessary. If your residence has substantial damage, contact our offices for assistance.
